If you are on a campus-owned Mac, Camtasia and Snagit can be installed from the Self-Service application in your Application folder. If you are on a campus-owned PC, Camtasia and Snagit can be installed from the Application Catalog. The license is not available for student personal use but can be installed in student computers labs on campus. The software is licensed for unlimited installs on faculty/staff machines, and faculty/staff are also allowed to use it on their home machines.

As an alternative to Snagit, the Snip & Sketch (Cut and Paste) tool that comes standard with Windows 10 is available. The Snagit software package will also no longer be extended after June 30 and will therefore expire. If you still want to use one of the remaining VU licenses after this removal action, you are requested to make a separate request for this via AskIT. In recent months it has become apparent that Camtasia is not sufficiently useful in the context of the VU workplace, so it has now been decided to reduce the number of licenses back to the original number (5 pieces).Įmployees who use a self-managed (red) PC that contains Camtasia (the VU license) are requested to remove this software themselves. Last year the licenses for Camtasia were temporarily expanded to 100 pieces to facilitate teachers in making knowledge clips.
